The PDC’s new magazine programme ‘The Darts Show’ launches on ITV4 this Friday ahead of the start of the Unibet Masters. The 2017 PDC calendar kicks off in Milton Keynes on Friday night, but darts fans can prepare for this tournament by watching the flagship edition of the monthly programme.
The show will be presented by Hannah East; current host of MUTV’s ‘Countdown to Kick off’. She will be joined by former Players Championship Finals winner Paul Nicholson, who recently retained his PDC Tour Card at Q-School last weekend; darts reporter and commentator Dan Dawson will also feature in the hour-long launch.
Friday’s programme will include exclusive footage and interviews from the annual PDC Awards Dinner which was hosted at the Dorchester Hotel earlier this month, whilst the trio will review the darting year of 2016 as a whole. Particular focus will be on the recent William Hill World Championship and last week’s Q-School.
‘The Darts Show’ will also feature a special segment with newly crowned world champion Michael van Gerwen, as they followed ‘The Green Machine’ to his official return to his home town of Vlijmen, where he was greeted by over 3,000 fans as he paraded the Sid Waddell Trophy.
The launch-show will also feature exclusive interviews with two rising stars of the sport. ‘The Darts Show’ will speak to World-Youth champion Corey Cadby and Dutch star Benito van de Pas, who won three Players Championship events on the Pro Tour in 2016.
Paul Nicholson will also pilot a special tutorial feature and ‘The Asset’ will provide insight for fans and aspiring youngsters on how to play the sport. The programme will be broadcast on ITV4 on Friday 27th January at 6pm; one hour before coverage begins for the 2017 Unibet Masters.
Nevertheless, the episode will be repeated on Sunday 29th January at 5pm and ‘The Darts Show’ will continue throughout 2017. Programmes will be produced on a monthly basis, bringing darts fanatics the latest news, behind-the-scenes features and interviews from the sport.
