Players Championship Five & Six Entries!

The entries for this weekend’s Players Championship double-header have been confirmed, as the Arena MK in Milton Keynes prepares to host Players Championships Five and Six on April 1st-2nd. There is £150,000 in prize money on offer throughout the weekend, for a field comprised of PDC Tour-Card holders and PDPA Associate Members.

World number one Michael van Gerwen will be in action as he aims to secure his first Players Championship title of the year, but ‘The Green Machine’ will face some stiff competition in Milton Keynes.

World number two Gary Anderson will hope to maintain his position at the top of the Players Championship Order of Merit this weekend, whilst he’ll be joined by his in-form compatriot Peter Wright. Snakebite has won the UK Open and German Darts Championship within the last month and is searching for his sixth title of the year.

Simon Whitlock will aim to continue his magnificent floor-form at the Arena MK, having won the most recent Players Championship event in Barnsley a fortnight ago. ‘The Wizard’ has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence which has seen him win five Pro Tour titles in as many months and he will begin the weekend as one of the favourites.

Players Championship One winner Alan Norris will also feature this weekend, as will Players Championship Three winner Rob Cross, who is looking to continue his magnificent start to life on the PDC Pro Tour.

Raymond van Barneveld is another high-profile name to feature in Milton Keynes, as the five-time world champion aims to maintain the wonderful form which has seen him defeat Anderson and Van Gerwen in the Premier League over the last fortnight.

Barney has climbed up the Pro Tour Order of Merit after some consistent showings on the floor in recent months. He is expected to be seeded 32nd for Saturday’s action, therefore he could meet top seed Van Gerwen in the board final; providing that both players win their opening two matches.

Van Barneveld will be joined by his Premier League counterparts James Wade, Adrian Lewis, Dave Chisnall, Jelle Klaasen and Kim Huybrechts, whilst world number nine Mensur Suljovic is also set to compete in both events.

Elsewhere, three-time world champion John Part will make his first Players Championship appearance since regaining his Tour-Card in January. Latvia’s Madars Razma will also make his Players Championship debut at the Arena MK, buoyed by the news that he will represent his country at this year’s World Cup of Darts.

Phil Taylor and Terry Jenkins are continuing their Pro-Tour hiatus’ by opting not to enter this weekend’s double-header, whilst quick-fire Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena is a surprise absentee.

Finally, Stuart Kellett has withdrawn from this weekend’s action. He’ll be replaced in Players Championship Five by Brazilian star Diogo Portela, whilst Players Championship One finalist Peter Jacques will take the Cheshire star’s place in Players Championship Six. The full list of entrants for this weekend’s double-header can be viewed below.
