Huybrechts to miss Judgement Night due to family reasons

Kim Huybrechts has pulled out of tonight’s Premier League action at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena. The Belgian was set to face Peter Wright in his final game before being eliminated, but he has been forced to withdraw due to family reasons.

‘The Hurricane’ informed the PDC this morning that he was unable to travel to the United Kingdom, in order to remain with his terminally ill mother during her final hours.

As tonight’s clash comes in week nine and with Huybrechts already eliminated, under tournament rules the contest will not be rescheduled. The PDC confirmed in a statement that Peter Wright will be awarded a 7-0 victory and will not compete in Cardiff this evening.

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: “We all send our best wishes to Kim and his family during what is a very difficult period. This was not the way that Kim wanted his Betway Premier League season to end, but the needs of his family are foremost at this time.”

The revised schedule of play in Cardiff can be viewed below, but our thoughts at Josh’s Dartistry are with Kim and his family.

  1. That’s really unfortunate for the Welsh fans, but you got to feel for Kim and Ronnie, hope it’s still a good night in Cardiff
