The entries for this month’s six UK Open qualifiers have been confirmed, as the 256-player field prepare to battle it out at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan to secure a spot in March’s Coral UK Open in Minehead.

The events are open to PDC Tour Card Holders and PDPA Associate Members, whilst PDPA Associate Members who did not make the field for any of the UK Open Qualifiers are permitted to enter the Riley’s Amateur Qualifiers taking place across the country.

Players who fail to compete in any of the six qualification events will miss out on next month’s event, and the biggest absentee will be Champions League of Darts winner Mensur Suljovic.

‘The Gentle’, who is making his Premier League debut this year, missed out on last year’s tournament due to family reasons. He reached the quarter-finals of the UK Open in his most recent appearance in 2016, although he’ll be missing out on ‘The FA Cup of Darts’ for the second successive year after opting not to enter any of the qualifiers.

Royden Lam and Stephen Burton are the two other Tour-Card holders who have opted to skip all six events, whilst Christian Kist and Paul Nicholson will miss three of the six qualifiers. Kist will be absent this weekend due to his ongoing arthritis woes, whilst ‘The Asset’ won’t feature in the final three events due to prior soft-tip commitments.

Nevertheless, a familiar face will be returning to the PDC fold, in the shape of nine-time major finalist Terry Jenkins. ‘The Raging Bull’, a runner-up here back in 2014, has entered all six qualifiers and will be bidding to make his first televised appearance since last year’s UK Open.

Nine Premier League stars including Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Rob Cross, Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barneveld will feature in Wigan, whilst former UK Open champions Adrian Lewis, James Wade and Robert Thornton will also be in action.

UK Open Qualifiers One and Four, which take place on Friday February 2nd and Friday February 9th, will begin at 2pm in order to accommodate the Premier League players travelling back from Dublin and Cardiff.

However, the Saturday and Sunday events will commence at the usual time of 12pm. The full list of entries from all six qualifiers can be viewed via the following link.
