Fallon Sherrock, Anastasia Dobromyslova and Martin Adams are among the confirmed participants featuring in Week Four of Modus’ live-streamed league next week.
Modus launched ‘The Icons of Darts’ three weeks ago, with players competing remotely from their respective homes to provide darting entertainment for fans during the coronavirus crisis. Following the competition’s success, ‘A Night At The Darts’ was introduced a week later.
Five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld, former BDO world champion Mark Webster and 2010 Players Championship Finals winner Paul Nicholson were among the six original participants and former world champions Adams and Scott Mitchell have since entered the fray.
BDO veteran Adams returns for his third week of competition after finishing third in last week’s overall table. The 63-year-old appeared poised to top the group after reeling off nine consecutive wins midway through the week, only to lose his last four fixtures.
Two of the game’s leading female stars will also feature in Week Four. Sherrock made a special guest appearance in Saturday evening’s action; winning two of her five tussles against former world champion Scott Mitchell and UK Open qualifier Jason Askew.
‘The Queen of the Palace’ has elevated herself to global stardom following her unprecedented World Championship exploits in December and she’s since appeared as a Premier League challenger and qualified for the UK Open.
The 25-year-old will feature in the latest instalment of ‘A Night At The Darts’, where she’ll be locking horns with Adams, Mike Warburton and Kyle McKinstry – the man who defeated Sherrock at last month’s UK Open in Minehead.
They’ll also be accompanied by ever-presents David Evans and Wessel Nijman. Recent BDO World Championship quarter-finalist Evans secured the spoils in the opening week of action, whilst emerging 19-year-old Nijman is bidding to claim his third successive league triumph.
‘The Icons of Darts’ in the afternoon session will be headlined by three-time women’s world champion Dobromyslova – the only female player to have appeared in multiple PDC World Championships.
The Russian will be joined in the six-player field by Ritchie Edhouse and Jarred Cole – both of whom competed in the second week of the event. Spain’s Jose Justicia will make his debut in the live-streamed league, alongside young prospects Justin Smith and Keelan Kay.
The respective events are held in a round-robin format from Monday to Saturday, with each player receiving one rest day. Every player competes in four games per day – all of which are played over the best of nine legs.
The action can be viewed exclusively via Modus’ YouTube channel, with the first session kicking off at 11am, followed by the evening session at 6pm.
