In our latest episode of the Josh’s Dartistry Podcast, Josh Gorton is joined by regular co-hosts Jon Dean and Neil Conner to round-up the latest darting news, as the innovative ‘Darts At Home’ concept continues to thrive despite the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The initial first phase of the PDC Home Tour concluded on Monday night and Josh reflects on a tournament of surprises which has seen just four of the world’s top ten advance to the last 32, with Michael van Gerwen and Daryl Gurney among those opting not to compete.
We also discuss the success of Modus’ Icons of Darts live league which has featured a host of established names, although the likes of David Evans, Wessel Nijman and Arron Monk have been the stars of the show thus far, with Monk landing a nine-darter earlier in the competition.
Phil Taylor has competed in a number of online events during the lockdown period and the 16-time world champion has impressed throughout. The team discuss the possibility of a sensational return for ‘The Power’ and whether he would have the hunger to make a permanent comeback.
Josh also caught up with former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan, who discussed life in lockdown, missing out on a Premier League homecoming in Rotterdam and a potential World Cup debut, plus overcoming the prospect of bankruptcy at the end of 2017.
