PDC World Cup of Darts moved back to September

The 2021 World Cup of Darts will be staged at the Sparkassen-Arena in Jena, Germany from September 9-12.

The 32-nation tournament sees two-player teams representing their countries, featuring a combination of Singles and Doubles contests throughout the four-day event.

Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton led Wales to their maiden World Cup of Darts crown last year, and world champion Price will bid to defend the title alongside Clayton, who landed his first individual major title at the Masters in January.

This year’s tournament will return to Germany – after taking place in Salzburg last November – to be staged in front of the Sky Sports cameras in Jena, with the Sparkassen-Arena having previously hosted a PDC European Tour event back in 2017.

The World Cup of Darts ordinarily takes place in June, but it has been rescheduled for the second consecutive year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tickets details will be confirmed by PDC Europe in due course, subject to announcements from the German government regarding the prospect of crowds attending sporting events.
