World Champion Gary Anderson has signed a new-long term contract at Unicorn as he sets his sights on a third consecutive world title. ‘The Flying Scotsman’ has signed a deal that will see his partnership with Unicorn exceed the ten year mark, and he is confident of securing more success in the near future.

“It is no coincidence that I have produced the best darts of my life since joining up with Unicorn in 2011. I was the nearly man. Well, now I’m not. To win back-to-back World Championship titles has been a huge achievement. To win three on the spin is the ultimate,” Anderson said.

“People talk about Michael van Gerwen. He is in great form but if he was the main man, he would have two World Championships to his name! I enjoy playing Michael. There is always added spice and hopefully it will be a great rivalry over the coming years,” the world champion quipped.

He added: “For me, this is the toughest era in the history of the sport. Taylor, Lewis, Wright, Wade, Barneveld and add to that all the fantastic young players breaking through and you can see why it means so much to win two World Championships. It’s never been harder to win big tournaments. It is a golden era for darts.”

Australian ace Kyle Anderson has been rewarded for his tremendous development with a new long-term contract extension at Unicorn.

The 28-year-old has made tremendous strides over the last 12 months; he is on the brink of breaking into the world’s top 32 following runs to the last 16 of the UK Open and a second-round World Championship appearance. Anderson will also represent Australia at the World Cup of Darts for the very first time, alongside Simon Whitlock.

Last year, Kyle made a huge decision to play on the PDC tour as a full-time professional, which meant leaving his family back home in Perth. Despite having recently married his long-term partner Tara, Anderson will once again base himself in the UK in 2016 as he aims to enjoy another fine year of success.

It’s a tremendous sacrifice to make, although he reaped the rewards in terms of his performances last year, qualifying for the World Matchplay for the very first time and performing superbly on the Pro Tour, where he posted a world-record darting average in a Players Championship event against Terry Jenkins last April.

Ian White has become the latest big name to join Team Unicorn, after ‘Diamond’s’ arrival was announced on Thursday morning. The world number 12 will make his first appearance as a Unicorn player on Saturday, when he takes on Peter Wright in the Unibet Masters in Milton Keynes.

White expressed his delight at the move, and outlined his ambitions for the near future.“It is a huge honour for me to be part of Team Unicorn,” White said. “It is a great move at an important time of my career.”

“It is all about winning a ‘major’, getting back in the world’s top 10 and having a crack at the Premier League,” he added.

The 45-year-old has enjoyed a tremendous couple of years on the PDC circuit, reaching a career high of world number eight during 2015. However, he endured a disappointing end to the year, which culminated in a first-round exit at the World Championships to young Belgian star, Dimitri van den Bergh.
